Guatemala is going through a historic moment in road infrastructure. The CIV launched the "Plan Conecta 2025", with intervention of over 1,000 km of roads and 50+ new projects.

Unprecedented investment

The General Directorate of Roads will invest Q1,749.9 million: Q1,018.8M in road works, Q556M in bridges, and Q150M in modular structures. Covial works in 16 departments intervening 6,368 km of pavement and 4,843 km of dirt roads.

C-50 Project: The Regional Ring

210 km of 4-lane highway at a cost of US$1,600 million. 4 of 8 active sections, 100 km under execution. It will allow heavy transport between ports to bypass Guatemala City.

International financing

World Bank: US$400M for 640 km of rural roads benefiting 5.1 million people.
IDB: US$150M for 130 km of roads and a 273m bridge.
Total approved: US$750M in road network loans.

Guatemala No Se Detiene

100 infrastructure projects, 41 road projects, 900,000 jobs, US$5,460M investment. Goal: expand the network from 16,457 to 37,952 km by 2038.
